Swedish Premiere: A Bitter Taste of Freedom

A film about the Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya will premiere at the Tempo Festival in Stockholm March 10, 2011. The film is an intimate portrait of one of the most admired women of our time.

The famous Russian film maker Marina Goldovskaya got to know Anna Politkovskaya as a student. Anna first appeared with her husband Sasha in a film called "A Taste of Freedom" (1990). Marina continued to film her until shortly before her death in 2006. Based on this unique material, Marina Goldovskaya has made a moving film that offers a wide specter of emotions and a deeper insight into what moved Anna Politkovskaya to risk her life defending the freedom she believed every Russian deserves.

A Bitter Taste of Freedom is a co-production between Dixit International and Goldfilms.

It will be screened twice during the Tempo festival:

Thu Mar 10, 14.50, Victoria (85 min, Russian with English subtitles)
Fri Mar 11, 17.00, Victoria (85 min, Russian with English subtitles)
